My name’s Adam, I’m a budding writer and critic.

Right now, somewhere out there in that ephemeral region of Middle England, I’m sat writing this. Alright, I’m not actually still there, I have moved on with my life since writing this but I’m conjuring imagery. Anyway, I graduated not that long ago, under some weird circumstances (2020 am I right?) and now I need to figure out where I’m going in life. I love writing and do so whenever I can, to varying degrees of success. I’ve written some films, some longer ones, some shorter ones and though I’m proud of them all, I really want to keep going and keep getting better. I really want to make this my job.

I also write critical pieces and essays about the films I love and also those I love slightly less. I do it in part because it’s fun, but also because I think it’s also a way to understand things a bit better. A way to actively engage with history and the artists of the past. All this is to say, though, that my main goal at least as it stands right now is to be able to support myself with my writing. What a dream that’d be.

Through my work I try to explore ideas I find interesting in a way that is accessible but also (hopefully) uncompromising to any complexity that comes along with them. At university I mainly studied film but where I could I engaged with philosophy, psychology and literature and I really want to be able to pursue my interest in these things through film.

I won’t bore you with a list of the things I find interesting here. Instead, hopefully, if I’ve done things right, maybe you can start to see the stuff I like looking at in my writing.
